Introduction

As many of you know, I've been working on this price guide for a very long time. When I started I had no idea how time consuming and difficult it would be. Hopefully it will help both the veteran collector as well as all of the newcomers to the hobby..  That being said, please read the following:

bullet

Prices were developed using a variety of sources including sales and auction results from my website (www.nodderexchange.com), results from other auctions, EBay results, prices from Tim Hunter's last price guide, and data from literally thousands of sales results provided by my customers.

bullet

The prices here should be used as a guide, they are estimates as to what things should generally go for but they are by no means "the price".  As most collectors know, prices are very volatile as many of these dolls only show up once in a long while. Just because a doll in NrMt condition is listed at $200 doesn't mean that the next one that sells won't go for $100 or $300.

bullet

Many rarer dolls show up only once or twice a year, if that. It's almost impossible to put a price on those types of dolls so the prices I list are "estimates".

bullet

If you have pictures that I'm missing or know of other dolls not listed, please let me know. Also, feedback is greatly appreciated, positive or negative, so please feel free to write and let me know what you think.

Obviously, an endeavor like this isn't possible without a lot of help from my friends. Here in no particular order is a list of those dealers/collectors who have helped make this site possible.  All are honest guys who care about the hobby. Check out their links (if applicable).

John Pergine
John is a long time collector, he probably has the nicest and most complete Football Collection anywhere. Many of the football  pictures you see on the sight are courtesy of John, what a great collection!! John and his lovely mate provided me with 100's of pix, including many rare Football Dolls that most of us never get to see. They didn't ask for money, only that I provide his  info and his want-list so he can hopefully find few things he still needs. Here's his link, if you have anything he needs and are looking to sell, please contact him.

Vinnie Alario (Hot3rdrail728) on Ebay
Vinnie is another honest, long time collector who I've had the pleasure of meeting a couple of times. Vin went above and beyond the call of duty, sending me literally 100's of prices of dolls he has bought and sold in the last few years. I've dealt with him plenty, they don't come any better.... save him in your Ebay  "good guy list".

Lou Criscione (www.InsideTheParkCollectibles.com)
A friendly rival in the Bobbing Head business, Lou helped tremendously by supplying many pictures as well as prices realized from his many sales and auctions. Very fair and knowledgeable as well as a very nice guy.

Tim Hunter
As many of you know, I took over Tim's Bobbing Head business in December 2002. For 20+ years before that Tim was the voice and the conscience of the Bobbing Head hobby. He fought to keep the hobby honest, often sacrificing quick bucks while doing so. I really believe that without Tim in there fighting, there would be no legitimate hobby today, he was the only to stand up to the "repair artists" and tell it like it is. Tim's retired from the hobby now, but not forgotten!!

Tony Sorice (Coachso on Ebay)
Another long time collector, specializing in College dolls. Very honest fellow who I've had good dealings with.

Grading Scale

"Gem" - Beautiful, bright, shiny, out of the box colors. A "Gem" is special. Because not all "Gem" nodders are perfect, we will combine the gem logo with the following grades:

Mint - No flaws, unless minor factory problems such as minor paint overruns or minor factory paint problems or bumps. A "Gem Mint" doll is the best. A "Mint" doll is one that has no flaws, but not the eye appeal of a "Gem Mint" doll.

NrMt/Mt - Possibly one or two minor flaws, usually in a spot that doesn't detract from its appearance at first glance. A NrMt/Mt doll is almost perfect.

NrMt - Most "nice dolls" fall into this category. A NrMt doll could have a couple hairlines in back or side or a minor problem in the front that doesn't detract from its overall appearance.

ExMt - Usually has a slightly bigger problem that may be noticeable at first glance, (dent, mark on face, etc.) but still looks good. We will always point these out so you know what to expect. Still a nice looking Bobber.

Ex or VG/Ex - Assorted "problems" should be spelled out, not an investment grade bobber but often nice enough for display.
